Protecting your business and assets

Trucking companies that worry regulatory compliance often do nothing to prevent what can be a faster and more devastating path to business failure. Carrier owners who pay little attention to the contracts they sign may wind up losing not only their businesses but sometimes even their personal assets.

TransComply's Business/Claims Issues package helps motor carriers and intermediaries can steer clear of potentially catastrophic pitfalls in contracts, cargo claims and other day-to-day business relationships.

Our Business/Claims Issues plan includes:
  • Templates for carrier-shipper and carrier-broker contracts and service terms and conditions

  • As-needed consultation on insurance, cargo claims, and collections issues

  • Sample independent contractor agreement

  • Quarterly invitation-only webinars on business/claims topics

  • Monthly regulatory updates

Qualified transportation attorneys

All authorized for-hire motor carriers must file a BOC-3 -- a list of agents for service of process in each state in order to get and maintain active operating authority (49 CFR §366). Agents receive and forward all lawsuits, evidence of fines, citations, tax assessments, and all FMCSA out-of-service orders.

TransComply's parent company, Service of Process Agents, Inc., (SPA) has provided this service for more than 30 years, but its solution offers much more.

Unlike its competitors, SPA provides qualified, practicing transportation lawyers to act as agents in each state. In addition to complying with federal regulations, you get a nationwide referral network of qualified lawyers and experts that can help you with federal and state regulatory compliance, employment, safety and other issues. Most other services rely on agents in many states that do nothing more than receive and forward legal documents. It's then up to you to track down someone who can help you resolve the matter. Not with SPA.

And unlike many one-time-payment services, SPA also continually monitors agents' status as an active entity. That means you can be assured that when documents are served on you they will be handled correctly and promptly. You can't afford to choose a lesser service; the risk of default judgments and out-of-service orders is too great.

Website design and hosting

Even for very small carriers, a website is a simple and smart way to give your business credibility and communicate with existing and potential shippers and brokers. Without one, your brand and reputation are at the mercy of what potential customers can learn about you government and third-party data services. Also, putting your service terms and conditions online can proovide another layer of protection against unreasonable cargo claims and other problems that could literally threaten your company's survival.

Our Website plan includes:
  • Setup, maintenance and hosting of a simple (up to 8 pages) carrier-specific website based on a template. (For an example of what a website might look like, click here.)

  • Email forwarding

  • Service terms and conditions to publish on your website and protect your business

  • Monthly regulatory update

Have your own domain name? We'll help you link it to your new website.
