FMCSA postpones bus lease and interchange rule, proposes changes

In related actions, FMCSA has again postponed the compliance date of the regulations established in the final rule on lease and interchange of passenger-carrying commercial motor vehicles and announced proposed changes to address “chartering’ and the 48-hour delay in preparing a lease. FMCSA had already delayed its initial compliance date by one year to January 1, 2018; the new compliance date is January 1, 2019. To read the compliance date extension, click here.
